Purpose

This privacy notice is to inform how collected information is utilized, the types of information collected, and entities’ rights to affect the use, storage, or disclosure of information collected.

Information Collection

All information collected is authorized by client contracts or end user agreements prior to processing.

  • Contract data is information obtained during the process of fulfilling contractual obligations of our clients. We rely on customers to comply with applicable information privacy laws and regulations.
  • Personal information collected by the company through hosted web sites or other electronic or physical means to provide services or products to entities or individuals.
  • Personal data collected from individuals during enquiries or processes associated with employment.
  • Website usage information which may include browser type/version, computer OS/version, pages accessed, Internet Protocol (IP) address, and geographic location.

Protection of Personal Data

Aperia complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union to the United States. Aperia has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over Aperia’s compliance with the Privacy Shield.

How Information Collected Is Used

We may use information in the following ways:

  • For the purposes for which you specifically provided the information Example: enabling us to respond to your questions about our products and services
  • With the exception as specifically set forth in this privacy policy, we will not share your personally identifiable information outside of Aperia. We may disclose and use personally identifiable information in special circumstances where it is necessary to enforce our service agreements or terms of use. Be aware that Aperia may be required to disclose an individual’s personal information in response to a lawful request by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Sharing of Information

Information is only shared with financial companies that operate within the payment sector for the purpose of compliance reporting and fraud detection or other entities at the request of clients by contractual obligation, or through authorized requests from individuals.

Aperia recognizes that it has responsibility for the processing of personal information it receives under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. Aperia shall remain liable under the Principles if its agent processes such personal information in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, unless the Aperia demonstrates that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

Data Retention

We strive to keep our processing activities, with respect to your personal data, as limited as possible. In the absence of specific retention periods set out in this policy, your personal data will be retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which we have collected it and, if applicable, as long as required by statutory retention requirements.

Log File Information

Aperia records log file information when a user accesses our websites.

Examples of log file information include:

  • A user’s IP address
  • A user’s browser type
  • The page from which a user accessed our website
  • The pages a user viewed while visiting our website
  • The last page a user viewed before exiting our website

Cookies

We define a cookie as any string of data that is automatically stored on your computer upon access to our online services. Aperia employs cookies to assign temporary identification numbers to machines that access our web servers. This information enables us to deliver prompt service to our subscribers, prevent denial of service attacks on our systems, and detect and prevent fraudulent transactions.

All Aperia cookies are:

  • Set to expire
  • Only visible to Aperia web servers
  • Devoid of any personally identifiable information

Updates to Our Online Privacy Notice

Access

Individuals whose personal information is covered by the Privacy Shield Framework have the right to access the personal information that we maintain, as specified in the Principles. Individuals may contact us to correct, amend, or delete their personal information if it is inaccurate or has been processed in violation of the Principles (except when the burden or expense of providing access, correction, amendment, or deletion would be disproportionate to the risks to the individual’s privacy, or where the rights of persons other than the individual would be violated). Children

Aperia does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from individuals under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for our services or send any personal information about yourself to our company. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as promptly as possible. California and Delaware “Do Not Track” Disclosures

According to California and Delaware law, it is required that we indicate whether we honor Do Not Track settings in your browser concerning targeted advertising. Aperia does not monitor or respond to Do Not Track browser requests, as Aperia adheres to the standards set out in this Privacy Notice.
